Protecting Alabama’s Wildlife: 11,678 Acres Conserved for Future Generations

In 2018, seven properties covering a total of 11,678 acres were placed under conservation easements administered by AFRC. These properties, located in Baldwin, Washington, Marengo, Lowndes, Tuscaloosa, and Talladega counties, are home to a rich variety of Alabama wildlife. From white-tailed deer and wild turkeys to migratory songbirds and diverse aquatic species, these lands are essential for preserving the state’s biodiversity. By protecting these vital habitats, AFRC ensures that future generations will continue to enjoy Alabama’s natural beauty and abundant wildlife.
